Hydrogen cars, steroid abuse, mission to mars, etc. Well, we're losing two concurrent land wars in Asia and the housing bubble is looking like it may be going down, so what irrelevant thing will be brought up this year? Place your bets. Winner gets bragging rights as "super-mega-ultimate predictor of the unpredicatable".

UNCONTROLLED PET REPRODUCTION

This problem has plagued our great nation since before the creation of the price is right, and despite the heroic efforts of Bob Barker, some domestic animals are still free to breed at will. This must be stopped! The National Guard will be patrolling the streets of every home town in America to deal with these animals that may threaten the control of the American pet population. Also alien animals of any variety attempting to cross the Canadian border will be shot on sight in the interest of the security of American animals.
