dboothe WAS hiking the PCT, but has hurt his ankle too much to keep the pace. So now he IS in Bishop, CA, trying to figure out how to get to Eugene, OR.
Which solves a buncha problems relating to transport to Seattle and back for the STP ride, and means that I'll have 2/3 of my immediate family visiting me on my brithday! Unfortunately, Bishop, CA seems to be the ass end of nowhere, so HOW he will get here is constantly in flux. One choice seems to be "Take a bus to Ridgecrest, then get to Bakersfield", the other seems to be "Hitch to Carson City or Reno". I was chatting with him online, and then he abruptly logged off. Dunno why, but I hope it's because the magical solution descended from heaven and he had to run to catch it.
