Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!


We had a pretty successful thanksgiving and it was nice to stay at home and cook and not worry about research or anything else. But that's not what I want to talk about - instead, I want to say that the no-knead bread recipe from the NY Times is fantastic. It's the first time we've cooked bread that ended up like snooty bread you might get from a bakery. It was crusty and chewy and wonderful. So, next time you are thinking you might want a multiday baking project, that one comes highly recommended.

Ooo...how exciting! I want to make snooty bread! I really screwed up the mashed potatoes this year (so maybe I will never have to make them again!) and have lots of leftovers for cream of potato soup. Some snooty bread would probably be a very nice additional starch accompaniment.

snooty bread is better than snotty bread, which is how i read this sentence each time i look at this entry. not that i've looked at this entry tons of times or anything. it's just that not much has been posted recently.

oh, and your snooty bread sounds vegan. whohoo!
