The dboothe has landed, and is now in our shower after eating tasty food at the Eugene Saturday Market. Operation Brother Meetup was successful. Now commencing Operation Sibling R&R.
My wife - and thence, myself, on as many weekends as flying from the east coast is practical - will be in Corvallis for the coming year. In fact, we were just in Eugene today to catch a showing of Howl's Moving Castle at the Bijou. Perhaps we should hook up sometime.
(Not this time, though, as I'm flying back to NC tomorrow morning.)
Apparently, the fates aren't gonna let us back out of this STP thang. I received my registration packet last week when I got home from Portland and can confirm that the Tyvek(tm) jacket is especially weird looking. I plan on wearing it out on the town.
I spoke with Canarasekal yesterday and we agreed that we will look after each on the ride and both look forward to seeing you and Nedthealpaca at the start line, camp site and finish line. Hopefully, you'll have adult malty beverages for us (not at the start line, of course).
I'm going riding. Despite not hitting my target mileage while out in Portland, I'm still pretty much on pace with my training and promise not to whine too much. But what the hell, you guys won't even be in earshot.

Well, really it's T minus one for the flight to Portland. I'm booked, trained, psyched, and ready to go! Flight is JetBlue Burlington - JFK - Portland, arriving Portland 11:59 PM on the 5th. So...as discussed...I'll be bright and chipper at your house around 2:00 AM on the 6th. I am really looking forward to this!
